About Interactief Nederlands

Since I moved to Alkmaar with my family 5 years ago I started thinking about setting up my own language school in town. For about 10 years now, I have been working as an NT2 (Dutch as a second language) teacher for several schools in Amsterdam. I have ample experience as a trainer teaching all levels of Dutch and preparing people for their Inburgeringsexamens and Staatsexamens. Patience, good feedback and a comfortable atmosphere in the classroom are key ingredients for a succesful lesson.

As I was brought up with both the Dutch and English language, I have a keen sense of the kind of grammar or pronunciation difficulties non-native speakers can encounter when learning the Dutch language.

I have chosen the name of my school to underline the importance of interaction as a way of learning during lessons. In my experience, interaction makes learning a language more practical, more fun and it is an easy way to quickly test your progress. Fun, games and personal input of our students are an integral part of every lesson.

Hope to see you in class!
